Q. Could you briefly introduce yourself?

I'm Eun Yoo, an artist who expresses myself through images rather than words. Since I was young, I've found expressing my thoughts through pictures more effortless and comfortable than writing or speaking.

Q. You majored in fashion design and have been active in various fields, such as visual design, illustration, animation, and digital art. How have your experiences influenced your work?

One of the roles of art is to vividly and diversely represent the 'present moment' in which we live, and my experiences in other fields help me achieve this.

Q. Among the projects you've done in various artistic styles, which would you consider as your representative piece so far?

I would say it's <Perfect Reflection>, the main piece of my solo exhibition last November. I can't discuss it in detail now, but it is significant because it embodies most of my life, emotions, and hidden meanings.

Q. You do both digital and physical artwork. What are the differences between the two?

Digital art is not constrained by time or space, so I can create without any limitations. The physical has boundaries, but I can feel and play with the textures of the materials more lively than the digital.

Q. Hearts and X patterns repeatedly appear in your artwork. What is the meaning behind them?

I consider love the most powerful energy on Earth, and the X symbolizes the positivity underlying negativity. Just as slightly tilting an X can make it a plus sign.

Q. You filled the media with your drawings of Zior Park's performance. What was that like?

Last year, I happened to see Zior Park live for the first time and was so impressed that I got chills all over my body. The performance went well with my drawings, so I imagined my drawings floating on Zior Park's media wall. Surprisingly, a week later, I got the opportunity to turn it into reality. Anyway, I love Zior Park.

Q. Where do you mainly draw inspiration from?

When I wake up in the morning, I draw inspiration from everything I see and hear. Before I go to bed, I visualize the most remarkable things I saw and heard during the day.

Q. Could you please highlight some of your successful NFT projects, such as 'NFT NYC' and 'KOREAN NFT'?

I've created 108 goddesses with themes of medieval stained glass and modern beauty to show timeless beauty. The most popular goddess is the one who loved Van Gogh, the goddess for the rejected. It's a project that ventured into a different style from last year's solo exhibition to the point where people might wonder if it's the same artist. 

Q. How was the collaboration with Seven Eight Under?

I'll answer that with the painting 'Perfect Reflection.' (hahaha)

Q. Is there a message you want to convey through this work?

I wanted to encourage everyone who may go through difficult and painful moments in life, telling them they can overcome and move forward. I'm also telling that to myself.

Q. Please detail some highlights of this work.

There are no specific details since my custom design was done very simply. Instead, I made a short 2D animation of 78 backgrounds in the 42-second video to tell the story behind the project, in line with the meaning of Seven Eight Under.

Q. What are your plans for the future? Do you have any ultimate goals?

I want to continue communicating with people through drawings. No matter how much I think about it, I feel most alive when drawing. As for goals, it would be to enjoy storytelling with more people through drawings.

Q. Finally, do you have any advice for those who 'keep marching for their dreams'?

If you stop doubting and start believing in yourself, the day will surely come, and you will achieve what you want.
